Our Story
Our journey started with a passion for food and travel. Exploring different culinary cultures inspired us to bring new ideas to Lisbon's growing café and brunch scene.
In 2018 we opened Cotidiano in Chiado, one of the first open-kitchen brunch concepts in Lisbon. Designed as a welcoming and relaxed café, it quickly became a reference for brunch lovers in the city.
In 2021 we expanded beyond Lisbon and entered the hospitality sector with Mute – Porto Covo, a laid-back coastal guesthouse designed for travellers looking for simplicity, comfort and connection with nature along the Alentejo coast.
During the pandemic we embraced creativity and launched Ordinário, an irreverent concept inspired by American street food and urban culture. Today it operates mainly through pop-up events while new ideas continue to develop.
In 2022 we created Slang, a concept combining the spirit of Cotidiano with bold influences, focused on Portuguese cuisine and located near Marquês de Pombal.
In 2023 we expanded Cotidiano with a new space at Praça do Comércio, bringing a Nordic-inspired aesthetic and terrace to one of Lisbon's most iconic locations.
In 2024 we expanded the Mute concept with a new property in Vila Nova de Milfontes, located in the former Selina building. The project reimagines the space as a relaxed coastal retreat for digital nomads, surfers and travellers exploring the southwest coast of Portugal.
Also in 2024, Grupo Coma entered the international franchising world with the opening of Oakberry Açaí in Madeira. Oakberry is one of the world's leading açaí brands, present in dozens of countries, known for its natural Brazilian superfood bowls and smoothies.
In 2025 we opened our second Oakberry location in Madeira, at Shopping Anadia in Funchal, reinforcing the brand's presence on the island and expanding our franchising operations.
In 2025 the Marquês de Pombal location evolved into a new Cotidiano, combining the coziness of Chiado with the minimalism of Praça do Comércio to create a welcoming space for locals, workers and visitors.
Today Grupo Coma continues to grow as a collective of hospitality concepts united by the same philosophy: great food, great energy and amazing people.
